OPTIONS         top

      --embeddedsystems
I am interested in evaluating the security of embedded systems and IoT devices. Mainly
I investigated car ECUs, smart home and smart grid devices. Some areas I looked into are: DAB/FM signals,
2G/3G mobile communications, WiFi Co-processor fuzzing, binary analysis and protocol reverse engineering.
      --cryptography
Currently I am focused on cryptography topics, such as the performance, security and efficient software
implementation of lightweight ciphers on embedded systems and key management in critical IoT networks.
      --phdstudent
I am a PhD candidate at the Laboratory for Safe and Secure Systems at OTH Regensburg.
      --other
In my free time I play tennis at DJK Neumarkt and occasionally
consult the people at Campus Asyl regarding IT issues.
I also try to play old Blues/Rock stuff on guitar.

HISTORY         top

Before entering university, I completed an apprenticeship as IT-specialist ("Fachinformatiker").
I received a BSc in Automotive Computer Science from THI.
During my bachelor studies I was enrolled in BMW's SpeedUp program, which allowed me to spent lots of time at
BMW's IT security (research) department as an intern.
I also lived in Guadalajara (Mexico), where I studied at Technologico de Monterrey for a winter term.
I received a MSc from OTHR in Technical Computer Science and Embedded Systems Security.

NOTES         top

I'm am always looking for motivated students in the area of embedded software development, cryptography and
security. If you want to write a project assignment, bachelor/master thesis or work in one of these areas,
don't hesitate to contact me via mail. My S/MIME certificate can be found here.
